New York Fries – Victoria, BC

During our time in Victoria, we really wanted to try the Canadian classic poutine: french fries, cheese curds, and brown gravy. The problem is that most places that serve poutine either don’t have a dedicated fryer or the gravy has gluten added. With a bit of searching, we found New York Fries. They have a great allergen list and all their poutines are gluten free except the ones with beef. Every staff member we interacted with over the phone or in person was very knowledgeable about celiac. They have dedicated fryers and keep their only gluten items in a separate area to avoid cross contamination. The staff member who served us commented that they have many celiacs who are regulars. We tried the classic poutine and cheese and bacon poutine and were very happy!
