Red Hills Market is one of my happy places. I can be in East Portland and drive all the way to Dundee just to enjoy my favorite sandwich on a sunny day. It’s not a dedicated gluten free restaurant but they do offer a gluten free bread for all sandwiches and a gluten free pizza crust. Everything gluten free is prepped in a separate part of the kitchen and has separate equipment (I ask each time though just to confirm).
Just look at the menu – so good. They also have local/imported cheeses, wines, little gifts, etc. which are always fun to look at. On a sunny day, they open the glass door in the back room making it like an indoor patio. My favorite sandwich there (hands down) is the roast beef, blue cheese, caramelized onions, and sea salt. Other family members love the Smoked ham with honey butter. Note that the sandwich portions are huge! A half is perfect unless you’ve ran a marathon earlier that day. The pizza crust is also lovely. I wish it was closer to Portland, but also love having an escape in the Willamette wine country.
