Verde Cocina is another one of our favorite spots. Everything on the menu is naturally gluten free! The quesadillas are AMAZING – fresh cheese, homemade tortillas – there’s usually a quesadilla of the day too. You can’t go wrong ordering anything on the menu with bacon – it’s local and cooked to perfection in big chunks.
My husband’s favorite is “CHORIZO CON QUESO FUNDIDO: local chorizo, melted cheese blend, potatoes, poblano peppers & veggies with choice of corn tortillas or thick-cut tortilla chips”. The home-made tortilla chips are a recent addition that are awesome!
They also have four locations – we hit up the ones in the Pearl and on Mississippi most often. Basically, you can’t go wrong here. It’s not cheap, but the food is well worth it and you get big portions. They also make Farmer’s Market and Zoo appearances!
